Radium Springs Trails
May 2018 Update
Radium Springs is a community in southeast Dougherty County centered on a natural spring of the same name that flows into the Flint River. The general project area includes the spring itself, the former Radium Springs Golf Course, the surrounding natural area, and Skywater Creek which flows from the spring into the Flint River.
The trails at Radium Springs are being developed by Dougherty County. There are several components in various stages of planning or design. These include:
- A trailhead facility to include parking, restrooms, and a pavilion
- 7 miles of paved multi-use trail around the perimeter of the former golf course
- 15 miles of gravel trails on the interior
- 1 mile of paved multi-use trails connecting the golf course with the spring along the Flint River
- Restoration of the historic Spring Run Bridge
- 3/4 of a mile of a multi-use trail along Radium Springs Road and Skywater connecting back to the golf course
- A memorial to the victims of the devastating tornadoes of 2017
